My first ti.e trying the Velvet Cactus. I went with some seasoned pros. The food was on point. The service was very good. Our server, knowing it was my first time, was helpful with suggestions. The ambiance was amazing. The outdoor seating, of course, would be better in the fall, and spring was truly delightful. I rate it a 10/10 and will definitely return.

I've been dining at Velvet Cactus for years. Sometimes the service for drink or chip refills can be a little slow but that's completely understandable with how busy they get. Regardless, the food itself always comes out fast, in my experience. It can get a bit loud sometimes, so heads up to people looking for a quiet spot. They have plenty of patio seating, complete with blankets and heaters for the few chilly days we may have down here. Overall, great place to grab a bite to eat!

This restaurant has great relax and fun ambiance from the art work all over the walls to the garage doors opening to make the outdoor and indoor seating one. The food is very good! The flavors are a lot different from most Mexican restaurants in Louisiana which makes this a fun place to try. The service is very helpful and kind. The only downside is parking, but I wouldn't expect anything else from a New Orleans restaurant. If you want a fun atmosphere and good food, then you should definitely give this one a try.

First time here and it was pretty good! We ate inside due to the weather. Food was decent and service was amazing.

This place is such a vibe!!! Came here on our girls night and the vibes were just so cute. We came the week after Christmas and all the decorations were still up with all the heaters. Our server, Jonathan G, was the best!! He was super cool and asked us all about our night plans & if we were out for any special occasion. Drinks were good!

Came here with my friend for lunch after the Botanic Gardens. We each got a margarita and they were delicious. I got the combination enchiladas - pork, chicken, and shrimp, which came absolutely SMOTHERED in cheese. I think the pork was my favorite, but all of them were amazing. My friend got the Mayan Quesadilla and said it was super good. Everything was served on Fiestaware, which I love to see at a Mexican restaurant. We sat outside on the patio, which was a super nice space. We were seating by this big fountain and the whole vibe of the place was super nice. Out waitress was quick and attentive. Overall, this was a really nice place and I would definitely go back.
